Privacy policy

The short version

If you never subscribe to the newsletter and never write to us, we do not hold any information that identifies you. Your budget, the games you picked, the resolution you play at and the build we produced live inside your own browser, on your own device, and are enough for the site to work.

If you do subscribe, the only personal detail we hold is an email address, plus the language and page you subscribed from so the newsletter arrives in the right language. One click in any issue removes it permanently.

Information you give us directly

Newsletter subscription: your email address, the interface language at the time of signing up, and the page the subscription came from. The purpose is to send the weekly hardware and price letter and nothing else. We keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and we never add an address to the list on your behalf.

Messages you send us: if you write to the contact address, we keep the message and your reply address for as long as it takes to handle the matter and to have a record of what was promised. Please do not send identity numbers, payment card details or copies of documents · we never need them.

Answers inside the build questionnaire: budget, uses, games, resolution, refresh rate, monitor preferences and upgrade details. These are processed to produce a recommendation and are stored in your browser, not in an account tied to your name.

Information stored on your device

Saved builds, saved parts, comparison lists, the last result you generated, your language choice, your light or dark theme choice and your country for store filtering are written to your browser's local storage. They stay on the device until you clear the site data, and they are readable only by this site.

Because this data never reaches a server under your name, we cannot retrieve it for you if you switch browsers or clear it. If a build matters to you, use the share link or write the part list down.

A share link encodes the build itself inside the address. Anyone holding that link can open the same configuration, so treat a link you publish as public.

Information created automatically

Price and quote lookups store the part, the store, the price found and the time of the check. This is hardware market data. It is kept and reused so that the next visitor is not forced to repeat an identical lookup, and it contains nothing about who asked for it.

Aggregate usage counts tell us which pages and which parts of the questionnaire are actually used, so we know where to invest effort. They are counted in aggregate, without a persistent identifier that follows you between visits or between sites.

Standard server and security logs record the request, the approximate time and a coarse technical fingerprint such as browser family. They exist to keep the service available and to investigate abuse, and they are rotated out on a short cycle.

What we never do

We never sell, rent, barter or otherwise trade personal data, and we do not allow a third party to use it for their own marketing.

We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels, social login trackers, fingerprinting scripts or affiliate tracking parameters on the store links we show. A store link is the plain address of the product page.

We do not require an account, a phone number, an identity number or payment details in order to get a full build recommendation, and we do not make any feature conditional on accepting marketing.

We do not take automated decisions that have a legal effect on you. A build is advice; the purchase decision is entirely yours.

Service providers who process data for us

The site runs on hosting, database and email infrastructure operated by suppliers who process data strictly on our instructions under a contract, are not permitted to use it for their own purposes, and are held to confidentiality and security obligations.

Live price checks and quote analysis send hardware descriptions · part names, models, prices you pasted · to search and AI services. Your email address and any identifying detail are never included in those requests.

Some of these suppliers operate outside your country, so a transfer of data across borders can take place. Where that happens, it is covered by contractual safeguards that keep the same protection level as described on this page.

Security

Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit. Access to the subscriber list and to administrative tools is limited to the people who need it, and administrative actions are logged.

No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects personal data, we will act to contain it and inform the people concerned and the relevant authority as required, describing what happened and what to do next in clear language.

Your rights and how to use them

You can ask at any time to see the data connected to your email address, to correct it, to delete it, or to receive a copy of it in a portable form. You can also object to receiving the newsletter, and you never have to explain why.

Every newsletter issue carries a one-click unsubscribe. Everything stored locally can be removed from your own browser settings by clearing the data for this site.

To make any request, write to hello@pcoptimizer.co.il from the address in question. We answer within a reasonable time and we do not charge for it. If you believe we handled your data badly, you may complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Children

The site is aimed at people choosing computer hardware and is not directed at young children. We do not knowingly collect information from a child, and if we learn that a child's address reached the newsletter list, we remove it.

Changes to this policy

When something material changes · a new type of data, a new kind of provider, a new purpose · we update this page and move the update date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means the current version applies, so it is worth a glance when the date moves.
